Ignoring the Gemini nano-age decan and overflow (Aug 2023 – Jan 2024 – Jun 2024)

The humorous aspect of this Gemini nano-age decan and overflow (NAD&OF) is that I excluded any details of it in my 2023 in the Age of Aquarius. The reason why I did not mention it, was that I undervalued its impact due to it being a mere nano-age decan – which at about 5 months each, represents only 1/5,184 of an astrological age. Even though the Age of Aquarius, and every other age, will have 5,184 nano-age decans located within them, they do correlate to events in the world, especially if they are accentuated, and in the case of this Gemini NAD&OF, it is accentuated.

Secondly, this Gemini NAD&OF is divided into two parts, its actual period (Aug 2023 – Jan 2024) and its overflow (Jan 2024 – Jun 2024). The impact of the overflow period is almost twice as strong as its actual period, so I decided when producing the 2023 In the Age of Aquarius to leave the details for the Gemini period to 2024 when it will be in its more powerful overflow mode. However, while the first half is ‘weak’ and the first quarter even weaker, the appearance of any new period of any size will still make an impact akin to stepping through a threshold. For example, when the Age of Aquarius arrived in 1433, within a couple of years, dynamic examples of Aquarius quickly appeared.

The first major event associated with this Gemini period is media orientated with the surprise exit of Rupert Murdoch from Fox with his son, Lachlan, taking over the reins of the media empire. Newspapers and all printed media are either ruled by or associated with Gemini. Murdoch stepped down on 21^st September 2023.

“Fox said Murdoch would become chairman emeritus of both the news network’s parent company, Fox Corp., and the News Corp. media holdings, effective in November. Lachlan will become News Corp. chairman and continue as chief executive officer of Fox Corp.” David Bauder, AP, 22 Sep 2023.[1]

In a letter on resignation day, Murdoch complained about elites who have “open contempt for those who are not members of their rarified class.” But Murdoch did not mention that his family’s wealth amounted to $US19 billion, but nevertheless, Murdoch does not consider himself to be one of the elites. This significant change in direction comes on the heels of Fox being forced to pay $787 million to settle a defamation lawsuit related to its coverage of false claims following the 2020 US presidential election. Rumor has it that Fox News thought there would only be a $50 million settlement – mere petty cash for a media empire. Losing almost a billion dollars to prop up a wannabe despot was a price too high for Murdoch!

The Fox succession captures two significant changes in the sub-periods of the Age of Aquarius. Firstly, the Scorpio nano-age and overflow (Jun 22 – Aug 23 – Nov 24) peaked in August 2023 entering its period of maximum impact from August 2023 to April 2024 (representing the third quarter). Scorpio promotes rebirth, reinvigoration and thus succession. Under Scorpio, things change or evolve. Secondly, the arrival of the Gemini NAD&OF is more relevant than the average nano-age decan because this small period resonates with the Gemini micro-age (Dec 2014 – Nov 2019) which itself forms part of the Gemini sub-age decan (1970 – 2029) of the Libra sub-age (1970 – 2149) – the forth sub-age in the Age of Aquarius (see Table 1 below).

**Table 1** – the world ‘horoscope’ for the period August 2023 to January 2024 color-coded to the zodiac signs. The table commences with the shortest periods at the top which get progressively larger down the table (like layers of an onion). The top three periods are the precipitators, and when the precipitators align with the same zodiac sign from micro-age down, this creates resonance and makes the precipitator more powerful. Because the focus in this post is on the Gemini nano-age decan, it is the precipitator and resonates with the Gemini micro-age and Gemini sub-age decan. Furthermore, these two Gemini periods are in their quasi-period (see right-hand sign) indicating these two Gemini periods are also in their more powerful mode. The only signs comparable to Gemini at this point of time are Libra and Scorpio plus Aquarius. These four signs are defining the world at this point of time. It is rare that all the above precipitators resonate with the more deep-seated influences. This suggests that the current time is perhaps more volatile than normal.

Another feature associated with the arrival of any twelve-part period (i.e. excluding decans) is that they usually commence with a decan that opposes the influence of a previous twelve-part period. In this case, the twelve-part Sagittarius nano-age and overflow (Mar 21 – Jun 22 – Aug 23) is followed by this Gemini NAD&OF commencing in August 2023, and Gemini will upset the momentum of Sagittarius – its opposite sign.

In Australia, this spectacularly played out with the loss of prestige of Qantas Airlines and the premature departure of its chief executive due to recriminations against the company over a number of issues. Heads will roll under Scorpio and this was the case with Qantas’ CEO. Other accusations include expensive airfares, mass delays and cancellations, and its treatment of workers including the illegal sacking of all its baggage handlers. Qantas was also criticized for not returning billions of dollars of government subsidies it received during the Covid pandemic though there was no legal obligation to do so. This is a classic reversal of fortune for Sagittarius-aligned Qantas and what is expected when Gemini rises its head.

This minor Gemini versus Sagittarius rebuff on the nano-age and decan level is a small fray in the much larger turbulence of the current Gemini sub-age decan and overflow (1970 – 2029 – 2088) rebuffing the momentum created by the Sagittarius sub-age and overflow (1612 – 1791 – 1970) which brought the world its population explosion and unprecedented wealth. The world is creaking along its way with Gemini undermining Sagittarius for most of this century, and with the Gemini sub-age decan and overflow peaking in 2029, the era of profligate and cheap international air travel is probably coming to an end! The world population explosion is expected to peak and start dropping before the end of this century. However electric vehicle (EV) sales will soar!

Even the attack by Hamas upon Israel on October 7 2023 calls upon Gemini, but it also calls upon Scorpio, Aquarius and Libra. The Gemini connection is that Judaism sits at the core of the Abrahamic religions which also include Christianity and Islam. Abraham existed around the peak (middle) of the Sagittarius age decan (2862 BC – 2117 BC – 1431 BC) of the Aries age (2862 BC – 715 BC) and God supposedly told Abraham to go forth and multiply [Genesis 1:28] which certainly draws upon a Sagittarius archetype with the added connection that Sagittarius is the main ruling sign for religions (salvation religions such as Christianity and Islam are also associated with Pisces). Gemini opposes Sagittarius and so the arrival of the Gemini nano-age decan in August 2023 can oppose anything associated with Sagittarius including Israel.

It is rare that any event is associated with only one sign, and if you examine Table 2, the other two precipitators are Scorpio and Libra. Scorpio is in its strongest quarter since August 2023, but Scorpio opposes Taurus, another key sign in Israel’s astrological signature. The golden bull of Moses’ time reflects the archetypes of both Taurus and Leo, which independently my research indicates are both strongly associated with Judaism and therefore Israel. Scorpio activates Taurus’ 7th house of ‘attack or be attacked’. Scorpio also promotes Leo’s 4^th house of anti-status which is not beneficial if you are engaged in hostilities and probably accounts for the Israelis being caught off guard. The coup de gras is that all this is occurring in the Aquarius micro-age overflow (Dec 2019 – Nov 2024) and Aquarius opposes Israel’s Leo. All this is playing out within the Cancer micro-age overflow (Dec 2014 – Nov 2029) which opposes Capricorn, traditionally associated with Judaism.

From the perspective of the Palestinians, the main zodiac sign I have found for them to date is Aries -though all Middle Eastern nations include Cancer in their astrological signatures. Our little Gemini nano-age decan sits at the beginning of the Libra nano-age which naturally also arrived in August 2023 and history tells us the main thing Libra brings is major conflict. [see The Backbone of the Libra Age-Decan (1433 – 2149)] So for the (Aries) Palestinians, the Libra nano-age, which only arrived in August 2023, is also a 7^th house time of ‘attack or be attacked’ (on a bad day), and they will probably experience both. The Libra eclipse of the sun on 14^th/15^th October 2023 also captures this invasion of Israel by Hamas activating the Palestinians’ 7^th house of conflict and the eclipsed sun representing Israel’s Leo.

If the Palestinians had followed Gandhi’s lead of non-violent protest and the Israeli government did not oppress the Palestinians it all could be a different story, but unfortunately in our part of the Age of Aquarius, Pisces is the strongest influence, and Pisces promotes medievalism – so its conflict rather than dialogue and compromise which is also possible under Libra. Ultimately it really is a deadly combination for Israel and seriously deteriorates for them later this century – but not in our lifetimes unless perhaps you are a teenager.

Other significant events associated with our Gemini NAD&OF are:

August 16–August 21 – Hurricane Hilary, a Category 4 Pacific Hurricane, strikes the Baja California peninsula and later Southern California, the region’s first in 84 years.[2]
August 26–August 31 – Hurricane Idalia hits northern Florida and the Southeastern United States, the worst to hit Florida’s Big Bend in nearly 100 years[3]
September 10 – Storm Daniel, a Mediterranean tropical-like cyclone makes landfall in Libya, killing at least 5,000 people, with Libyan authorities announcing between 10,000 and 100,000 missing. In the city of Derna in Libya, two dams collapse, resulting in a quarter of the city being destroyed[4]

According to Rex E Bills, hurricanes and cyclones are traditionally ruled by Uranus, but they are swirling masses of air, and Gemini is an air sign, and Bills does give dual rulership of air to Uranus and Mercury,[5] establishing the connection to Gemini via its ruler Mercury. We should expect a massive increase in hurricanes, typhoons and cyclones this century associated with the air Gemini sub-age decan and overflow – especially from 2029 onward.

With the auto industry ruled by Gemini (in planet-free astrology associated with the astrological ages), the strike commencing mid-September by the United Auto Workers (UAW) against the three largest American automakers[6] was right on cue.

Our miniscule Gemini NANO&OF is part of the backbone of the Gemini micro-age which itself is a significant part of the backbone of the Gemini sub-age decan. Gemini is one of the key signs this century, and the world is falling into the Gemini world of hurricanes, tornado or cyclones at an accelerating rate. While I may be focusing on media moguls, hurricanes and automobile workers’ strikes there will be many beneficial areas that will arise due to Gemini.

For example, the massive revolution in the communications industry with the appearance of cell phones, especially post-2000, correlated to the Gemini quasi sub-age decan (2000 – 2059) and the quasi period represents the upper half of the bell curve of influence. [see Age of Aquarius for Dummies for details on the mechanics of the astrological ages] In this case, the quasi period (2000 – 2059) is the upper half of the Gemini sub-age decan and overflow (1970 – 2029 – 2089). Astrology suggests that contemporary cell phones are akin to the Model-T Ford – the best is yet to come, unless it involves cranial implants?

There is no reason to believe that the current Gemini sub-age decan and overflow will bring greater than average turmoil and discord to the world this century despite the fact it opposes the fortunate and lucky sign of Sagittarius. Even a fortunate sign, such as Sagittarius, has created the current climate crisis due to its sponsoring of the worldwide population explosion and the exponential increase in industry commencing with the Industrial Revolution with its attendant pollution. Probably a good time to invest in wind energy but not a good sign for air quality or asthmatics!

Combined with the Scorpio sub-age overflow (1970 – 2149) that promotes evolution, the world is already witnessing the beginning of the EV revolution to reduce carbon emissions. With Gemini’s rulership over youth, we should also expect a political shift of emphasis to young people, especially after the demise of the baby boomer generation – the last hurrah of the Sagittarius sub-age overflow (1791 – 1970). Unfortunately, youth crime should also be expected to be higher than normal in this century especially when Scorpio combines with Gemini.

On the credit side of the ledger, we should expect the appearance of the greatest writers or novelists the world has seen to date. The current Gemini sub-age decan and overflow is the strongest manifestation of Gemini in the world since the Gemini sub-age and overflow (717 – 896 – 1075). This Middle Ages Gemini period saw many great Chinese and Islamic writers and poets, because the Middle Ages were aligned to the quasi Cancer age decan (359 – 1075) and Cancer was the major sign for both China and Islam including, of course, the Middle East and Mediterranean Sea. Europe was still groveling in its Dark Ages so any possible novelists were looking after the pigs instead.

The closest Gemini influence to our current one is found in the Aquarius micro-age (1910 – 1925) with its Gemini micro-age decan and overflow (1915 – 1920 – 1925) and especially the second half (1920 – 1925). As an example of the power of this Gemini micro-age decan overflow (1920 – 25) are the following examples of authors and famous books published in the period:

With the transformative aspect of the current Scorpio sub-age overflow (1970 – 2149) combined with Gemini’s media and novelists, the sublimation of the printed book to a museum curiosity and their replacements by eBooks is a foregone conclusion over the course of this century. Hard copy books should increase in value like the value of antique cars or old paintings.

Of course, the resolution of the writers’ strike in the USA must be associated with the arrival of this Gemini period – the sign of writing and writers. On 25^th September 2023 after 11,000 writers had walked off the job for 146 days, the Writers Guild of America announced a deal with the studios, streaming services and producers. In contrast, talks have not yet resumed between studios and striking actors who have been on strike since July 14, 2023, causing a major delay of multiple Hollywood productions.[8] The reason for this difference is that writers, aligned with Gemini, were in an adversarial mood due to the activation of their 7^th house of conflict associated with the Sagittarius nano-age decan and overflow ending in August 2023. With the departure of Sagittarius and the arrival of the Gemini NAD&OF, the focus shifted from adversarial to strength – and so they got what they wanted. In contrast, Pisces-aligned actors were empowered by the Sagittarius NAD&OF due to its activation of their 10^th house of status, but now that Sagittarius has been replaced by Gemini, Gemini activates the lowly 4^th house.

There is another perspective on the coming Age of Writers – or at least writers and literature under the spotlight. The Authors Guild in the USA filed a class-action against OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, in mid-September 2023 on behalf of 17 plaintiffs, including Preston, George R.R. Martin, Jodi Picoult, Michael Connelly and Jonathan Franzen.[9] Even the works of Australian authors were affected:

“…. the works of Peter Carey, Helen Garner, Kate Grenville, Anna Funder, Christos Tsiolkas and Thomas Keneally, as well as Flanagan and dozens of other high-profile Australian authors, were included in the pirated dataset containing more than 180,000 titles.”[10]

It is claimed that thousands of books around the world have been pirated to train generative AI for corporations such as Meta and Bloomberg with some claiming it is the biggest act of copyright theft in history. Somebody misused ChatGPT to write the final book in George R.R. Martin’s series that he hasn’t even written yet. In August 2023, author Jane Friedman said that she found at least five AI-created books for sale on Amazon with her name on them.

Already, I have come across at least one online posting by an astrologer – but authored by AI. The grammar was excellent, but upon examination, the content was dismal though initially it could pass as human-made. Garbage in – garbage out, but in reality, AI can only compute, and while AI can probably compute far better than humans, it cannot think, and thus is denied epiphanies. However, astrology clearly indicates we are entering a strange new world of everything being questionable, as technology advances in leaps and bounds, but as usual, society, government and laws lag behind the changing times. The times are not only changing, but under Gemini, changing at an accelerating rate, and this will apply for the rest of our lives. I remember my grandmother, who was born in the 1890’s, telling me that not much changed every decade in her youth.

Europe & Ukraine

Very quickly on the heels of the arrival of the Scorpio nano-age overflow in August 2023 Ukraine’s staunchest supporter, Poland, turn nasty precipitated by an economic dispute. Ukraine had flooded the European market with its agricultural products to the detriment of farmers in other countries including Poland. Ukraine has traditionally been known as the breadbasket of Europe suggesting that Taurus and possibly Sagittarius are strongly placed in its astrological signature. The peaking of Scorpio (opposite sign to Taurus) in August 2023 and the arrival of Gemini opposed to Sagittarius has not done Ukraine any astrological favors. In addition, the Slovak government has just changed hands with the incoming leader pro-Russian and therefore anti-Ukraine – placing strain upon European unity. The Gemini nano-age decan that arrived in August 2023 is detrimental to Pisces Europe as Gemini activates Pisces’ 4^th house. This promotes conflict with Europe’s leadership role and stance related to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

A major U-turn by the British prime minister has occurred with the announced cancellation of the planned HS2 rail link from Birmingham to Manchester. The UK prime minister said all the money earmarked for the project would be spent on other transport projects such as road upgrades, east-west rail links and public transport.[12] One commentator stated:

“Why would I put more money into the long-dated debt of a country with an ageing population whose highest aspiration is to fill potholes?”[13]

Both the canceled and other transport projects are ruled by Gemini. The UK has Sagittarius strongly placed in its astrological signature as under the Sagittarius quasi sub-age (1701 – 1880) the UK became the greatest empire the world has ever experienced. The cancellation of this major rail infrastructure suggests that Gemini is taking its toll on Sagittarius UK. At the same time, the only other change of note was also linked to Gemini, as the British prime minister announced an overhaul of post-16 school education.

USA

The primary sign for both Europe and the USA is Pisces, which can therefore be taken as the primary sign for Western culture. Europe is Pisces-Aries, while the USA is Pisces-Aquarius, so despite their Pisces commonality, there are differences. Gemini therefore also activates Pisces-USA’s 4^th house and under Gemini, detracting from its 10^th house of leadership – which is exactly what has recently occurred. On the 3^rd October 2023, for the first time in history, the US House of Representatives removed its leader, McCarthy, who was second in line to the presidency after the vice president. This has created a (10^th house) leadership vacuum. A few days previously McCarthy also had launched an impeachment inquiry into Biden[14] which is another example of the anti-leader quality of the 4^th house for a Pisces country. Scorpio obviously was in the room with Gemini as Scorpio fostered this rebellion of disgruntled extreme right-wing Republican members of Congress. Leading up to this turmoil, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives had removed billions of dollars of aid to Ukraine which will suffer somewhat under Scorpio and Gemini.

The negative effects of Gemini upon the USA is aptly expressed by the chief policy officer of the United States Chamber of Commerce, Neil Bradley:

“Defending a free country like Ukraine is an important element in global leadership,” Bradley said. “To the extent that aid to Ukraine is being walked back, it begins to cede US global leadership — on all fronts.”[15]

Australia

Accounting is ruled by Gemini, which found itself downstream in its opposite sign of Sagittarius until August 2023. The scandal of Price Waterhouse & Cooper’s (PwC) internally supplying confidential information from one of its clients, the Australian federal government, and providing this information to major corporations to avoid multinational taxes is believed to not be limited to Australia. With Gemini ruling both petty thieves and accountants, it seems that these two came together but now that Sagittarius has handed the baton to Gemini, the accounting scandal will probably dissolve into the landscape.

Another interesting astrological aspect of this scandal is that it commenced or was initiated in May 2015[11] when the Australian government commenced attempting to combat multinational tax avoidance. This occurred very close to the very beginning of the Gemini micro-age (Dec 2014 – Nov 2029). Though this may not have an overbearing international consequence, the astrological reason why it probably occurred or was precipitated in Australia is that Sagittarius is one of the main signs in Australia’s astrological signature. Gemini can hurt Australia, and these Gemini accounting firms have grabbed their pound of flesh from the Australian government.

The Voice referendum in Australia in October 2023 unfortunately finds itself in a Gemini period that is opposed to Sagittarius – one of the key signs in Australia’s astrological signature, if not the main sign? This is already playing out with the intensity of debate increasing, and is not a good omen for the Yes campaign supporting the Voice referendum. Under Gemini, Sagittarius Australian unity is low and regardless of which side wins the referendum, there will be strong dissent as we have already expereinced.

It becomes obvious that a change in the ruling nano-age, and consequently nano-age decan, puts in place a whole new astrological environment resulting in significant changes of directions in many areas of the world. For example, the successful invasion of the Armenia-backed Republic of Artsakh by Azerbaijan in September 2023 with most ethnic Armenian residents fleeing to Armenia would suggest that Armenia is on difficult terms with either Scorpio, Gemini or both, while Azerbaijan has a good relationship with each or both zodiac signs. The military coup in Niger could also allow for some astrological inspection of Niger’s astrological signature.

In the future, I may continue to downplay the arrival of a tiny nano-age decan, but not if it precipitates a larger and stronger period. This Gemini nano-age and overflow (Aug 2023 – Jan 2024 – Jun 2024) will overlap with the soon-to-arrive Aquarius nano-age decan and overflow (Jan 2024 – Jun 2024 – Nov 2024) which, if you examine Table 1, will resonate with the Aquarius micro-age overflow (Dec 19 – Nov 24) that forms part of the backbone of the Age of Aquarius. You cannot get anything more powerful than an age in macro-astrology! There should be an interesting US presidential election in November 2024 – but that analysis can wait until I produce 2024 in the Age of Aquarius.
